FINANCIAL INCENTIVE AWARD FUND (FFIAF)

The Financial Incentive Award Program is sponsored by the FAA Foundation of Columbus, Georgia, Inc. It is designed to encourage a qualified member of the association who desires to receive further education toward a certified field of study. A qualified member shall be one of good standing for at least two years in the association. Such a study program shall be post-high school or graduate level toward a certification or diploma at a credited institution. The length of study shall be specified according to the program offered by the institution.

Amount and Condition (to be studied by committee for recommendation): The amount of funding to each selected recipient shall be determined by the FIAP Committee and approved by the Board of Trustees of the FAA Foundation on the basis of availability of funds. To be eligible for renewal, the student must (1) have maintained at least a B or 3.0 GPA as supported by official transcript from the institution, and (2) reapply for review by the committee. The recipient may use the fund toward payment of tuition or to meet personal needs, such as to cover the cost of books, equipment, or lab necessities.

Criteria: The requirement must apply to the applicant: 

1. must be a current paid member of FAA for the past two years;

2. must be accepted into a degree program as documented by the institution that offers the program (**Please attach a copy of your acceptance letter)

3. completed FFIAF application form and submitted by the specified deadline of each year (**refer to deadline on the application form);

4. must be a full-time student;

5. must submit a written essay stating purpose of the study and justification why you deserve the award;

6. must submit a required record and description of service to FAA and to other volunteer community work: for example, a school, a hospital, a church and/or any other local or out-of-town organization. Finally, the applicant shall be selected on the basis of documents submitted and a personal interview at a designated time by the members of the FFIAF Committee. Awards will be presented during the annual anniversary event.
